According to the National Weather Service in Sacramento, a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Monday for high-elevation areas, including Shasta County, Lassen Park, and the West Slope of the Northern Sierra Nevada. Snow levels will drop to around 3,500 feet late Monday night, potentially impacting lower elevations with light accumulations.
Expected Snowfall & Wind Conditions:
- Shasta County & Burney Basin: 6 to 12 inches of snow expected above 4,000 feet, with up to 2 feet at higher peaks. Winds could gust as high as 60 mph.
- Lassen Park & Western Plumas County: 1 to 3 feet of snow expected above 5,000 feet, with isolated totals up to 4 feet. Winds may reach 75 mph.
- West Slope Sierra Nevada: 1 to 2 feet of snow expected, with up to 3 feet at the highest elevations. Winds may gust up to 70 mph.
