Philadelphia, PA – A strong winter storm is forecast to bring several inches of snow and bitter cold temperatures to Pennsylvania beginning Sunday. The National Weather Service predicts up to 6 inches of snow across parts of the state, with the heaviest accumulation expected in central and eastern regions.
According to the National Weather Service Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center, snowfall will begin Sunday morning and intensify through the day. As the system moves northeast, areas across the Mid-Atlantic and New England will see widespread snow.
By Monday, temperatures are expected to plunge 15 to 25 degrees below average. Highs will barely exceed the teens in some areas, while overnight lows could drop into the single digits. The combination of cold and ice may create hazardous conditions for commuters and increase the risk of river ice formation.
Residents are urged to monitor weather updates and prepare for snow-covered roads and freezing temperatures. This storm follows a brief warm spell, marking a sudden return to winter.
