Winnipeg Teens Arrested for Break-Ins on Portage Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – Police arrested two Winnipeg teens after a series of break-and-enter incidents at a business on Portage Avenue. Authorities said both incidents caused significant damage and resulted in theft.

Officers responded to the first break-in on September 14 at 12:45 a.m. They found a business with a broken window and other damage. A 16-year-old suspect was identified after seeking medical attention for injuries sustained during the break-in.

According to the Winnipeg Police Service, the Major Crimes Unit took over the case. Investigators discovered a second break-and-enter had occurred on September 1. A 17-year-old male suspect was also linked to the crimes.

Police arrested both teens on October 3. The 16-year-old faces charges of break-and-enter, theft, and failing to comply with a sentence. The 17-year-old faces break-and-enter charges as well.

The damages exceeded $2,600, with $1,200 in stolen items. Both teens are in custody.
