Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeg Police seized a loaded handgun and thousands of dollars’ worth of drugs early Tuesday following a north end traffic stop.
According to the Winnipeg Police Service, the incident occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. on November 25, 2025, after officers stopped a 2015 Hyundai Accent near Andrews Street and Flora Avenue. Police say the driver, 24-year-old Milad Wahab, was already known to them as a high-risk offender.
During the stop in the 100 block of Salter Street, officers reportedly saw signs of drug trafficking and arrested Wahab without incident. A search of the vehicle turned up a loaded Glock .40-calibre handgun with a tampered serial number, ammunition, and several types of drugs with a combined street value exceeding $8,000.
Among the seized items were:
- 32 grams of cocaine
- 5 grams of fentanyl
- Oxycodone, Percocet, and hydromorphone pills
- Two cellphones, packaging materials, and $1,130 in cash
Wahab faces multiple charges, including possession of a restricted firearm, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and several counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. He also received a provincial offence notice under the Highway Traffic Act.
Police confirmed Wahab remains in custody.
