Greene County, MO – A domestic assault call Friday evening led to the arrest of a 33-year-old man who is now being held without bond at the Greene County Jail, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called around 7 p.m. Friday to the 9700 block of East Farm Road 156 for a reported domestic assault. When deputies arrived, they learned that Cody Deckard, 33, allegedly prevented four individuals from leaving the residence.
Authorities said an adult woman and her 3-day-old child were able to escape the home and were taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Deputies then entered the residence out of concern for the safety and well-being of the two remaining individuals inside.
Deckard allegedly fled from the rear of the residence before deputies arrived but was later taken into custody in a nearby wooded area, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators presented charges to the Greene County prosecuting attorney’s office, and a warrant was subsequently issued for Deckard’s arrest. Jail records show he is currently being held without bond.
According to authorities, Deckard faces multiple charges, including domestic assault in the first degree, domestic assault in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action. The sheriff’s office did not release additional details about the circumstances leading up to the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone experiencing domestic violence is encouraged to seek help through local law enforcement or victim advocacy organizations.
