Winfield, IL — On May 29, the Winfield Fire Protection District opened their new station location at 0N525 County Farm Road.
The Winfield Fire apparatus and personnel moved from their location on High Lake Road by Northwestern Central DuPage Hospital. To commemorate the move, trucks lined up outside of the High Lake station and made their way to County Farm. Residents from Winfield gathered around the old station to watch. The original station was designed for a volunteer fire department. This new facility provides needed housing and amenities for fire personnel. The new Winfield Fire District building has a gym and sleeping quarters for firefighters. The groundbreaking ceremony for this project was on May 21, 2024.
The Winfield Fire District started operations out of their new location today.
