Wilmington, OH – A blustery and unsettled weather pattern continues across southwest and central Ohio today, with gusty winds, periods of rain, and a noticeable drop in temperatures, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington.
Forecasters say morning showers and gusts will persist through midday, followed by a brief lull before additional showers and stronger winds redevelop from mid-afternoon into the evening. Peak wind gusts could reach 35 to 40 mph, and rainfall totals are expected to range between a quarter and half an inch across much of the Miami Valley and central Ohio region.
As the cold front passes, temperatures will steadily fall through the afternoon and into the evening, marking a return to more seasonable late-October conditions. The NWS warns that isolated thunderstorms cannot be ruled out but that the primary concern will be gusty winds and rapidly cooling air.
Motorists and residents should secure outdoor items and use caution when driving in blustery conditions.
