Wilmington, Del. – Residents across Delaware will enjoy a stretch of warm, sunny weather through the weekend before rain chances return by midweek. Afternoon highs will push into the low 80s Sunday and Monday, providing one last round of summer-like warmth.

According to the National Weather Service in Philadelphia/Mount Holly, conditions remain clear and calm overnight Friday with lows near 51. Sunny skies take over Saturday and Sunday, with light winds from the west at 5 mph. Monday will hold steady with mostly clear skies and highs around 80.

The pattern changes Tuesday evening as moisture pushes in from the west. Forecasters expect a 50% chance of showers Tuesday night into Wednesday, with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-70s by midweek. The chance of rain lingers into Wednesday night, tapering off with partly cloudy skies and lows in the upper 50s.

Travelers across I-95 and U.S. Route 13 should prepare for reduced visibility and slick roads if showers develop Tuesday night. Commuters are advised to allow extra time Wednesday morning.

More showers are possible through early Thursday, before conditions dry out and highs drop back into the upper 60s by Friday.
