Will I Get Mail Today? Post Office and Service Closures on Memorial Day

Chicago, IL – On Memorial Day, the U.S. Postal Service will suspend its operations in observance of the federal holiday, along with many other local services.

According to the U.S. Postal Service, all post offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, with no regular mail delivery or retail services available. Customers are advised to plan accordingly, as normal operations will resume on Tuesday, May 28. Express Mail services will still be available, but delivery may be limited.

Additionally, most banks and local government offices, including town halls, will also be closed in observance of Memorial Day. Essential services like police and fire departments will remain operational, but non-essential government services will be unavailable. It is recommended to call ahead if you have any questions regarding specific services or offices. For urgent banking needs, ATMs and online banking services will be accessible.
