Will County, IL – Severe storms on Sunday night led to a series of weather-related crashes on Interstate 57, involving eight occupants across three vehicles.
The Monee Fire Protection District reported the need for extrications in two of the incidents, yet confirmed there were no injuries. According to emergency responders, the crashes were managed with notable efficiency, crediting the Monee Emergency Management Agency for providing immediate shelter to the occupants.
A relocation effort was also coordinated, with a bus transporting those affected to a truck stop for safety. The Manhattan Fire Department was acknowledged for their assistance in covering the fire station during the emergency response.
