New Lenox, IL – A 60-year-old woman from Frankfort, Illinois, faces charges after police say she engaged in alleged prostitution and unlicensed massage therapy at her New Lenox spa. New Lenox Police arrested Lihua Yin on Friday following a months-long investigation into Shangri-La Spa on East Lincoln Highway.
According to police, undercover officers first began visiting Shangri-La Spa in September after a tip about possible illegal activity. Officers reported that a massage therapist, who identified herself as “Sally,” allegedly offered sexual services for payment during massages. On Friday, an undercover officer returned, engaging Yin in a conversation in which she allegedly agreed to a sexual act for money.
With assistance from State Investigators, police confirmed Yin’s identity as the spa’s owner. Police determined she lacked a valid state massage license and allegedly admitted to providing sexual services to customers in recent months.
Yin faces two Class A misdemeanors for prostitution and unlicensed massage practice.
