Wichita, KS – A dense fog advisory is in effect across central and south-central Kansas this morning, causing visibility to drop below a mile in many areas. Motorists are urged to exercise caution during their commute, particularly along major routes like I-35, where reduced visibility and patchy slick spots could create hazardous conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory will remain in place until 10 a.m. Monday. Temperatures hovering near freezing may lead to isolated slick spots, especially on bridges and overpasses. Drivers are advised to use headlights, reduce speed, and maintain safe distances from other vehicles.

Once the fog clears, conditions will improve with mild temperatures reaching 53 degrees by the afternoon. The rest of Monday will feature mostly cloudy skies with light winds. Colder air moves in on Tuesday, with highs dropping to the low 40s and overnight lows near 28 degrees. Sunny skies are forecast for midweek, with temperatures ranging from 42 to 48 degrees on Wednesday.

Looking ahead, the weekend may bring a return of wintry conditions, with the potential for snow late Saturday into Sunday. Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts for updates.

Stay prepared and plan accordingly for changing conditions throughout the week.
