Wichita, KS – The National Weather Service in Wichita says Kansas residents can expect a brief warm-up through midweek before another strong cold front arrives late in the week, bringing below-normal temperatures back to the region.
After a cold night Sunday with lows between 19°F and 22°F, Monday will start chilly but turn sunny and mild, with highs ranging from 43°F to 54°F.
The warmest stretch arrives Tuesday and Wednesday, when highs climb into the mid-50s to low-60s, about 10–15 degrees above normal for early December. Tuesday will also bring breezy conditions across much of central and south-central Kansas.
By Thursday, clouds will increase ahead of a strong cold front, with highs around 50°F, followed by a sharp temperature drop Friday, when highs fall back into the 30s and overnight lows dip into the 20s.
Forecasters say this pattern will likely bring another round of below-normal temperatures into the weekend, marking a return to winterlike conditions.
