St. Paul, MN – When do clocks fall back across Minnesota this year? Residents in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Duluth, Rochester, and St. Cloud will turn their clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, as Daylight Saving Time officially ends across the North Star State.
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Minnesota will return to Central Standard Time through early March 2026. The “fall back” gives residents an extra hour of sleep, but also brings much earlier sunsets and longer evenings across the state.
In Minneapolis, sunset on Sunday will occur around 4:53 p.m., while in St. Cloud, dusk will fall near 4:56 p.m. Up north in Duluth, the sun will set earlier—around 4:43 p.m. Drivers, walkers, and cyclists should prepare for darker commutes beginning next week.
Fire officials across Minnesota encourage residents to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries when changing clocks—a twice-yearly safety reminder promoted nationwide.
Daylight Saving Time will return on Sunday, March 8, 2026, when clocks “spring forward” by one hour again.
