Indianapolis, IN – When do clocks fall back across Indiana this year? Residents in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Evansville, South Bend, and Bloomington will turn their clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, marking the official end of Daylight Saving Time across much of the Hoosier State.
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, most of Indiana will return to Eastern Standard Time, while several counties in the northwest and southwest—such as those near Gary and Evansville—will observe Central Standard Time. The “fall back” gives residents an extra hour of sleep, but also signals much earlier sunsets as November begins.
In Indianapolis, sunset on Sunday will occur around 5:39 p.m., while in Fort Wayne, dusk will fall near 5:34 p.m. In Evansville and northwest Indiana, sunset will happen closer to 4:47 p.m. Central Time.
Fire and emergency officials encourage Hoosiers to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors while changing clocks—a twice-yearly safety reminder promoted nationwide.
Daylight Saving Time resumes on Sunday, March 8, 2026, when clocks “spring forward” one hour again.
