Austin, TX – When do clocks fall back across Texas this year? Residents in Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and El Paso will turn their clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, marking the official end of Daylight Saving Time across the Lone Star State.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, most of Texas will return to Central Standard Time, while far western areas—including El Paso and Hudspeth counties—will shift to Mountain Standard Time. The “fall back” gives residents an extra hour of sleep, but it also brings noticeably earlier sunsets statewide.

In Dallas, sunset on Sunday will occur around 5:38 p.m., while in Houston, dusk will fall closer to 5:34 p.m. Austin and San Antonio will see sunset near 5:45 p.m., while in El Paso, it will set around 4:59 p.m. Mountain Time.

Fire departments across Texas urge residents to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries during the time change—a twice-yearly safety reminder recommended nationwide.

Daylight Saving Time will resume on Sunday, March 8, 2026, when clocks “spring forward” one hour again.
