Columbia, SC – When do clocks fall back across South Carolina this year? Residents in Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, Myrtle Beach, and Florence will turn their clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, as Daylight Saving Time officially ends across the Palmetto State.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, South Carolina will return to Eastern Standard Time through early March 2026. The “fall back” offers residents an extra hour of sleep, but also signals the start of shorter days and earlier sunsets across the state.

In Charleston, sunset on Sunday will occur around 5:22 p.m., while in Columbia, dusk will arrive near 5:30 p.m. Upstate areas such as Greenville will see sunset closer to 5:37 p.m., while along the Grand Strand, Myrtle Beach will dip into darkness around 5:25 p.m.

Local fire officials remind residents to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries during the time change—a national safety habit recommended every fall and spring.

Daylight Saving Time will resume on Sunday, March 8, 2026, when clocks “spring forward” by one hour again.
