Wheaton, IL – The Wheaton Police Department has confirmed the identity of a deceased individual found at Lincoln Marsh on Wednesday. The individual, a 56-year-old Wheaton resident, had been reported missing earlier that day.
According to police, the missing person was considered endangered after sending concerning text messages indicating suicidal thoughts. Investigators later determined the deceased individual was the same person reported missing.
The investigation, conducted with the DuPage County Coroner’s Office and the M.E.R.I.T. Forensic Unit, found no evidence of foul play. Police assured residents there is no ongoing risk to the community.
Authorities are withholding the individual’s identity to respect the family’s privacy.
