Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – Comfortable summer weather will make for an excellent Friday across western Pennsylvania, with warm temperatures, low rain chances and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors before a few isolated showers become possible later tonight.
According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, afternoon highs will reach the upper 70s to lower 80s across the region, including around 83 degrees in Pittsburgh, 82 in New Castle, 82 in Latrobe, 80 in Butler, 80 in Indiana, 81 in Morgantown, 81 in Wheeling and 79 in Zanesville.
Most communities will remain dry throughout the day, with rain chances generally staying at 10% or less through the afternoon. By late evening and overnight, a few stray showers may develop, mainly south and west of Pittsburgh, with slightly higher chances extending into eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia. Rain is expected to remain isolated, and many locations will stay dry through the night.
Travel conditions should remain favorable on Interstates 79, 70, 76 and 80, with no widespread weather-related disruptions expected. Those attending outdoor events, heading to area parks or planning evening activities can expect pleasant conditions but may want to keep an umbrella handy if traveling south or west of the city after sunset.
The National Weather Service says this quiet weather pattern continues for most of the day, with only limited shower activity expected tonight. Additional forecast updates will be issued if rain coverage becomes more widespread.
