Toledo, Ohio – Drivers across western Ohio should prepare for challenging road conditions Saturday as snow returns during one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.
According to the National Weather Service, a system moving across the Great Lakes will bring accumulating snow to northwest and west-central Ohio beginning Saturday afternoon. Areas from Toledo to Lima could see 1 to 4 inches of snowfall, with probabilities of 4 inches or more sitting near 30-40% based on the latest forecast maps.
Temperatures will hover around freezing, which could cause wet roads to turn slick by evening. Rain may mix with snow in some areas, particularly south of I-75, slightly reducing totals but still creating dangerous travel conditions. Reduced visibility is also possible during periods of moderate snowfall.
Snowfall is expected to taper off late Saturday night, but crews may struggle to keep up if accumulation rates increase faster than expected. Motorists should allow extra time, especially on secondary or untreated roads.
Additional advisories or winter weather headlines may be issued later this week as forecast confidence improves.
