Albany, NY – A widespread rainstorm is set to impact eastern New York and western New England from Sunday night into Monday, bringing high precipitation chances and wet conditions through the morning commute.
According to the National Weather Service Albany, rain chances will increase from west to east, with most areas seeing precipitation probabilities exceed 75% overnight. Cities including Albany, Kingston, Glens Falls, and Poughkeepsie are expected to experience near 100% precipitation between 10 p.m. Sunday and 4 a.m. Monday. Rainfall intensity is forecast to gradually taper off throughout Monday morning, but showers will linger into the early afternoon in some areas.
Travelers should prepare for wet roads and potential ponding, particularly during the early morning hours when rainfall will be heaviest. Commuters are advised to allow extra travel time and stay updated on road conditions.
The storm will also bring fluctuating temperatures, with lows in the 40s overnight and highs reaching the upper 50s on Monday. Rain is expected to clear out by Monday evening, giving way to drier conditions midweek.
