Grand Rapids, MI – Warm, sunny conditions will give way to a cooler weekend as a storm system approaches Grand Rapids. The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures dropping as rain and breezy winds arrive late Thursday night.
According to the US National Weather Service, highs on Saturday will reach only around 60 degrees as a cold front pushes through the region. Winds could gust up to 30 miles per hour from the north, bringing much cooler air. Friday’s forecast calls for a 40% chance of rain, with temperatures dropping into the 60s.
Residents can expect a sharp contrast to the unseasonably warm temperatures earlier in the week. Thursday’s highs will still reach the low to mid-80s, but cooler air will arrive by Friday night, along with showers and breezy conditions. The weekend is expected to remain cool, with Sunday’s temperatures reaching the mid-60s and lingering showers.
The National Weather Service advises residents to prepare for cooler, windy conditions, especially those planning outdoor activities. As the storm moves through, temperatures will gradually warm back up into the 70s by early next week.
