Des Moines, IA – Patchy dense fog has developed over portions of central, eastern, and southwestern Iowa, creating hazardous travel conditions early this morning. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Des Moines issued an advisory stating that the fog, dense in some locations, will gradually lift just after sunrise.
According to the NWS, visibility may be reduced to a half mile or less in parts of eastern Iowa, with the densest fog expected between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Drivers are urged to use caution, reduce speed, and use low-beam headlights when traveling through fog-affected areas. Conditions are expected to improve by mid-morning.
