Charleston, WV – Snow continues across West Virginia through Thursday, with an additional 2 to 5 inches expected, making for hazardous travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. Thursday, covering central, southeast, and western parts of the state. Slippery roads and reduced visibility may impact both morning and evening commutes, especially along I-64 and I-77. Motorists should slow down and allow extra travel time.
Snow will taper off Thursday afternoon, with highs reaching the mid-20s. By Friday, conditions improve with partly sunny skies and a high near 31°F. A warming trend arrives this weekend, with Saturday climbing to 42°F under mostly sunny skies.
By Sunday, temperatures push into the mid-40s, signaling a break from the arctic air. While roads may remain slick, warmer conditions should help improve driving conditions. Residents are encouraged to stay updated through local forecasts and check road conditions before heading out.
