Charleston, WV – Residents in Charleston can expect a rollercoaster of weather this weekend, starting with chilly conditions today before warmer temperatures and rain arrive by Sunday night. With high temperatures reaching only 33 degrees today, wind chills remain low, especially in elevated areas.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will bring sunny skies and slightly warmer highs near 42 degrees, offering a brief reprieve. Overnight lows will dip to 32 degrees, with calm winds expected. Sunday ushers in a warmer trend, with temperatures climbing to 55 degrees. However, rain showers are likely late Sunday night, impacting road conditions by Monday morning.

Looking ahead, heavy rainfall is forecast on Monday, with temperatures nearing 59 degrees. By Tuesday, soggy conditions persist with highs in the mid-60s. Local roads, including I-64 and Route 60, could experience hazardous driving conditions during the Monday morning commute due to slick surfaces.

Residents are advised to dress warmly for Saturday’s cold start and prepare for rainy conditions early next week. Keep flammable materials clear of heat sources and ensure outdoor pets have adequate shelter during colder nights.

Be sure to check updated forecasts and plan accordingly, especially for travel during the rain-prone period from Sunday night through Tuesday.
