Charleston, WV – The latest winter storm has blanketed parts of West Virginia with fresh snowfall, with Huntington seeing the highest accumulation at 5.5 inches.
According to the National Weather Service in Charleston, snowfall reports indicate 3 inches at the weather office, while other areas recorded varying totals, including 2.9 inches in Hurricane and 2.5 inches in Saint Albans and Winfield. Lighter amounts were noted in Ripley (1.9 inches), Beckley (1.8 inches), and Athens, Ohio (1.2 inches).
Forecasters encourage residents to submit additional snow measurements to refine snowfall estimates. While no further significant accumulation is expected, cold conditions may lead to slick roads and hazardous travel. Drivers are advised to exercise caution.
