Charleston, WV – A hotter day is expected across West Virginia as temperatures are set to rise into the low to mid-90s in the lowlands. The National Weather Service in Charleston reports mostly sunny skies today, with rain chances increasing by late afternoon and evening. Residents are advised to enjoy the quiet weather before rain becomes more likely tonight.

According to the National Weather Service, the lowlands will experience high temperatures in the low to mid-90s today, while the mountainous areas will see highs ranging from the mid-70s to mid-80s. Both regions are expected to stay dry and hot today, with rain entering the area by late evening.

The forecast for the week indicates a shift in weather patterns. Monday will bring an 80% chance of rain, with temperatures dropping to a high of 81 degrees. Rain continues on Tuesday with a 60% chance and a high of 84 degrees. Wednesday offers a brief respite with partly sunny skies and a high of 89 degrees.

Thursday and Friday see a return of rain, each with a 35% chance, and highs of 89 and 90 degrees, respectively. The week concludes with a 40% chance of rain on Saturday and a high of 84 degrees.
