Charleston, WV – A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 a.m. Friday for Northwest Pocahontas and Southeast Randolph counties, including the areas of Snowshoe and Harman.
The National Weather Service reports dangerously cold wind chills ranging from 10 to 20 degrees below zero. Such conditions significantly increase the risk of hypothermia and frostbite for those exposed without adequate protection.
Residents are advised to wear layered clothing, hats, and gloves if venturing outdoors and to minimize exposure to the frigid temperatures. Travelers should take precautions to ensure safety and avoid prolonged outdoor activity.
The public is encouraged to stay informed through updates from the National Weather Service and to follow safety tips for extreme cold. For additional information, visit www.weather.gov/rlx or check the NWS Facebook and Twitter pages.
