Memphis, TN – Rain and thunderstorms are set to impact the Memphis area Friday night, bringing breezy conditions and possible travel disruptions along I-40. As spring weather patterns shift, residents should prepare for fluctuating temperatures and occasional severe conditions over the next five days.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will start off dry with mostly sunny skies and a high near 81°F. However, by Friday night, showers and thunderstorms will develop, especially before 1 a.m. Wind gusts could reach up to 35 mph, creating hazardous driving conditions. Rainfall totals may range from a tenth to a quarter of an inch, with heavier amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday will see lingering showers in the morning, followed by partly cloudy skies and a high of 74°F. Breezy conditions will persist, with south winds at 10 to 15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph. Showers may return late Saturday night.
Sunday will bring a shift to cooler, drier conditions, with sunny skies and a high near 59°F. Nights will be chilly, dipping into the low 40s. The start of next week remains mild, with highs reaching near 74°F by Tuesday.
