San Angelo, Texas – Severe thunderstorms are expected to erupt across west-central Texas after 4 p.m. Tuesday, bringing the risk of golf ball-sized hail, damaging winds, flash flooding, and isolated tornadoes.

According to the National Weather Service in San Angelo, the most organized storms will develop along a cold front moving through Haskell and Throckmorton counties between 6 and 7 p.m. The line will progress through Abilene and Baird by 9 p.m., reaching San Angelo and Brownwood around midnight. Overnight, storms are forecast to stall from Menard to Brady and San Saba, increasing the threat of flash flooding into Wednesday morning.

The outlook includes a slight risk (Level 2 of 5), with potential for winds over 60 mph and hail up to 1.75 inches in diameter. Flooding concerns are particularly high near the Llano and Saba Rivers, where rises are possible. Travel could become dangerous on U.S. Highways 83 and 87, especially in low-lying areas.

Residents are urged to charge devices, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay weather-aware as conditions may rapidly deteriorate. Warnings remain in effect through 6 a.m. Wednesday, with further advisories possible as the cold front pushes east.
