According to the National Weather Service, the current river stage is 8.7 feet as of Friday evening, below the bankfull stage of 11.0 feet. The river is expected to crest just under the 13.0 feet threshold, which could lead to localized flooding. Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling near US 301 and avoid any flooded roadways.
Additionally, a high surf advisory remains in effect until 2:00 PM on Saturday, impacting coastal areas of Tampa Bay. Beachgoers are advised to avoid swimming due to hazardous rip currents and high surf conditions. Saturday’s weather will see scattered showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures peaking around 90°F. Heat index values could reach as high as 104°F.
