Detroit, MI – A snowstorm moving through southeastern Michigan Friday night into Saturday will bring 2 to 5 inches of snow, creating hazardous road conditions and reduced visibility.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will be heaviest overnight Friday into early Saturday, with temperatures rising to 34°F during the day. Snow may continue into Sunday before bitter cold returns Monday, dropping temperatures to a low of 1°F. Winds from the southeast at 7-10 mph could further complicate travel, particularly on I-75, I-94, and other major highways.
Saturday night, snow will mix with drizzle, with light additional accumulation possible. By Sunday, snow showers will linger, with highs reaching 29°F before clouds gradually clear overnight. Monday will bring partly cloudy skies but frigid temperatures, with a high of just 18°F and lows near 1°F by nightfall.
The cold stretch will continue into next week, with Tuesday and Wednesday seeing partly sunny skies but continued below-freezing temperatures. Highs will reach 17-18°F, with nighttime lows remaining in the single digits.
Drivers should use caution, allow extra time for travel, and stay updated on changing road conditions throughout the weekend.
