Atlanta, GA – Residents across Georgia should prepare for a wet weekend as showers and possible thunderstorms roll in Saturday night. The National Weather Service forecasts widespread rain, with a 100% chance of precipitation overnight into Sunday.

According to the latest forecast, heavy downpours could impact travel along I-285 and I-75, with gusty winds reaching up to 30 mph. Rain will likely continue into Sunday morning before tapering off by midday, bringing cooler temperatures and drier conditions by Sunday night.

By Washington’s Birthday on Monday, Atlanta will see sunny skies with a high of 49°F, offering a brief break from the rain. However, colder nights will persist, with lows dipping to 29°F on Sunday and 31°F on Monday.

Tuesday brings a return to mild, mostly sunny conditions with a high of 56°F. Looking ahead, the midweek forecast suggests dry weather before another possible system approaches by late next week.

Travelers should stay updated on road conditions, as standing water and gusty winds may create hazardous driving situations. Stay tuned for further updates on changing weather patterns throughout the weekend.
