Paducah, KY – Residents of Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois are set to experience a significant weather shift as a cold front passes through the region. The National Weather Service in Paducah predicts that while today will bring continued heat and humidity, along with small chances of showers and thunderstorms, a cooler and drier pattern will establish itself starting Sunday.
Today’s highs are expected to range between 89 and 95 degrees, with thunderstorms possible in the evening. According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will usher in cooler conditions, with temperatures dropping to between 83 and 90 degrees, accompanied by less humidity.
The cooling trend will continue into early next week. Monday will see even cooler temperatures, with highs ranging from 81 to 86 degrees. By Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures will dip further, with highs between 78 and 83 degrees—well below seasonal averages. Overnight lows will also be noticeably cooler, dropping into the upper 50s to low 60s.
