Weekend Forecast: Hot Weather, Storms Ahead for Northeastern Missouri, West Central Illinois

St. Louis, MO – Above-normal temperatures are forecasted for northeastern Missouri and west central Illinois from today through Sunday, with Saturday likely being the warmest day. Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s, about 8-10 degrees above average.

According to the US National Weather Service in St. Louis, a weak cold front will move into the area on Saturday night, bringing potential showers and thunderstorms, mainly affecting northeastern Missouri and west central Illinois. Despite this, temperatures on Sunday are expected to remain high, with highs in the low to mid-90s.

Residents are advised to take precautions against the heat. The National Weather Service suggests wearing light-colored, loose-fitting clothing, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding leaving children or pets in vehicles. It’s also recommended to seek out air conditioning or cooling shelters and to check on vulnerable family members, friends, and neighbors.
