Fort Worth, TX – A tornado watch remains in effect for parts of Texas and Oklahoma until 4 AM CDT on Saturday, April 19, 2025. The National Weather Service has issued this watch due to the ongoing severe weather conditions across several counties in both states. The watch is particularly relevant for residents in central and northern Texas, as well as central and southeast Oklahoma.

According to the National Weather Service, the watch encompasses areas including Cooke, Jack, Montague, Palo Pinto, Stephens, and Young counties in north-central Texas. These areas include cities like Bowie, Breckenridge, Gainesville, and Mineral Wells. The severe weather is expected to impact local travel and may lead to hazardous conditions.

In West Central Texas, the tornado watch also extends to Haskell, Shackelford, and Throckmorton counties, covering cities such as Albany and Haskell.

In Oklahoma, the tornado watch affects a larger region, covering 17 counties including Pottawatomie, Pontotoc, and Seminole in central and eastern Oklahoma, as well as southern counties like Carter, Garvin, and Jefferson. This includes cities like Lawton, Ardmore, and Shawnee.

Residents are advised to stay alert for changing weather conditions and take shelter immediately if a tornado warning is issued for their area. The National Weather Service urges all affected regions to monitor local weather reports for further updates.
