Lombard, Ill. — A water rehabilitation project is set to begin on Butterfield Road in Lombard the week of June 16. The project is part of an effort by the Village of Lombard to minimize future disruptions by improving the water system infrastructure.
The water rehabilitation work will be on Butterfield Road between Fountain Square Drive and South Fairfield Avenue. The westbound curb lane of the road will be closed, but the other two lanes will remain open for traffic flow. All properties in the area will be accessible from Butterfield throughout the duration of the project. Lombard Public Works encouraged drivers to drive slowly in this area, using caution and looking out for construction workers on the road. Temporary traffic delays should be expected during this time.
Construction crews began moving equipment toward this area, and work is scheduled to begin early next week. The village expects the project to last approximately one month, the village said.
