SEATTLE, Wash. – After several days of sunshine and crisp fall air, clouds and showers will make a comeback to the Puget Sound region late this week. The Emerald City will enjoy one more stretch of calm, dry weather before a Pacific front slides inland Thursday night.
According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, high pressure will keep skies mostly clear through Wednesday, with daytime highs near 60°F and overnight lows in the low 40s. Winds will remain light, allowing cool mornings to warm quickly under full sunshine.
By Thursday afternoon, increasing clouds will mark the leading edge of the next rain system. Light rain is expected to reach the metro area Thursday night and linger into Friday, bringing slick roads and slower commutes on I-5, I-90, and SR-520. Rain chances stay around 40 to 50 percent through Saturday as another weak disturbance passes the coast.
Forecasters say the weekend will be cooler and cloudier, with highs holding in the upper 50s. While rainfall totals will be light, the shift signals a return to the region’s typical October weather pattern. Outdoor plans Thursday night through Saturday may need quick adjustments for scattered showers.
According to meteorologists, a brief break in the rain could arrive Sunday night before another system develops early next week.
