Spokane, WA – Frigid Wind Chills Expected Across Eastern Washington Until Wednesday
Residents across Eastern Washington, including Spokane and surrounding areas, are bracing for dangerously cold temperatures through midweek. The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory, warning of wind chills as low as 5 to 10 degrees below zero until Wednesday at noon.
According to the NWS, the advisory covers several cities, including Spokane Valley, Pullman, Colfax, and Coeur d’Alene. The coldest conditions will be in sheltered and open areas, where wind chill values could dip below -10°F.
Officials warn that prolonged exposure to such extreme cold could lead to hypothermia or frostbite if precautions aren’t taken. Residents are urged to bundle up in warm layers, including hats and gloves, and limit outdoor activities.
Tuesday and Wednesday will bring mostly sunny skies, but temperatures will struggle to climb above the low 20s. Snow chances increase Thursday night into Friday, adding further travel concerns.
Drivers should remain cautious, as freezing temperatures could lead to slick roads and icy patches. Stay updated on weather conditions and prepare accordingly.
