Spokane, WA – Heavy rain and possible thunderstorms are expected to hit Spokane by Friday, bringing travel delays and potential road hazards across Eastern Washington.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and isolated thunderstorms will likely roll through Spokane beginning Thursday evening and continue into Friday afternoon. Wind gusts from the southwest may reach up to 9 mph, with precipitation chances rising to 70% by Friday morning. Drivers on I-90 should use caution during early commutes, as wet roads and low visibility are expected through at least midday Friday.

Rainfall may reach up to a quarter inch, with heavier downpours possible during thunderstorms. Snow levels will briefly dip overnight Thursday into early Friday, lowering to around 3,800 feet — potentially bringing a wintry mix to higher elevations. Friday’s high will top out near 57°F.

The weekend brings a shift. Spokane can expect mostly sunny skies Saturday with highs in the mid-50s. Sunday will warm to 61°F under clear skies, offering a dry window for outdoor plans.

Looking ahead, showers may return Monday through Wednesday with fluctuating snow levels between 2,700 and 4,400 feet. Daytime highs will hover in the mid-50s.
