Pendleton, OR – A winter storm is set to bring snow, ice, and hazardous travel conditions to parts of Oregon and Washington starting Tuesday night and continuing through Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Pendleton, a Winter Weather Advisoryremains in effect for several regions, including the Blue Mountains, Simcoe Highlands, and the Eastern Washington Cascades Crest. Snow accumulations could reach up to 10 inches in higher elevations, with lower elevations receiving a mix of snow and ice. Wind gusts in some areas may reach 45 mph, further complicating travel.

In Oregon, affected areas include the foothills of the Blue Mountains, North Central Oregon, and the east slopes of the Cascades, including cities like Fossil, Maupin, La Pine, and Sisters. Washington areas impacted include the Yakima Valley, Tri-Cities, and Walla Walla.

Travelers should expect slick roads, icy overpasses, and reduced visibility. Authorities advise slowing down and using caution while driving. Residents should also watch for icy sidewalks and stairs.
