Pendleton, OR – A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. PST Tuesday for portions of the Eastern Washington Cascades and the East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades, bringing heavy snow and strong winds to the region.

According to the National Weather Service, areas above 4,500 feet in the East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades—including La Pine, Sunriver, Sisters, and Camp Sherman—can expect an additional 3 to 6 inches of snow, with total accumulations of up to 10 inches. Winds will gust between 40 and 60 mph, particularly on exposed ridges, increasing the risk of tree damage and hazardous travel conditions.

In Washington, the Upper Slopes of the Eastern Cascades Crest, including Easton and Roslyn, could see another 4 to 10 inches of snow, with total snowfall reaching up to 12 inches. Strong winds will create whiteout conditions and potential road closures.

Travelers are urged to exercise caution as roads, bridges, and overpasses may become slick and dangerous. The Washington State Department of Transportation advises checking road conditions at wsdot.wa.gov, while Oregon travelers can visit tripcheck.com or call 511 for updates.

Residents should prepare for potential power outages and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas until conditions improve.
