Spokane, WA – A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of Washington and Idaho as heavy snowfall and strong winds impact higher elevations through Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, snowfall is expected to accumulate between 5 to 10 inches above 4,000 feet in Lookout Pass, ID, with wind gusts reaching 40 mph. The advisory remains in place from 10 p.m. Monday through 10 p.m. Tuesday, potentially making travel hazardous.
In Washington, Western Okanogan County, including Conconully, Loup Loup Pass, and Mazama, will see snow accumulations between 4 and 9 inches, with the heaviest amounts above 3,000 feet. Winds could gust up to 35 mph, creating difficult travel conditions. This advisory lasts until noon Tuesday.
Additionally, the Okanogan Highlands region, including Sherman Pass, Chesaw Road, and Boulder Creek Road, is also under an advisory until noon Tuesday, with snowfall amounts between 3 and 8 inches and wind gusts reaching 40 mph.
