Seattle, WA – A Flood Watch has been issued for Mason County from Saturday afternoon through Wednesday as a series of storm systems bring excessive rainfall and potential flooding.

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest rain is expected Saturday and Sunday, with totals ranging from 4 to 6 inches during that period. A storm total of 3 to 8 inches is possible, raising concerns for river flooding, particularly on the Skokomish River.

In addition to the rain, rising snow levels—expected to reach 6,000 feet—will contribute to runoff, further increasing flood risks in low-lying areas. Creeks and streams may exceed their banks, leading to hazardous conditions in flood-prone locations.

Residents in Mason County should stay alert for potential Flood Warnings and be prepared to take action if flooding occurs. Officials urge people to avoid driving through flooded roads and to move to higher ground if necessary.
