Ward County, ND – A dog caused a crash involving an ATV on 47th St SE, leaving two individuals injured.

According to a media release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Jeremiah Burner was driving a 2003 Suzuki ATV southbound on 47th St SE after turning left from 34th Ave SE. A dog ran in front of the ATV, prompting Burner to steer left and overcorrect, resulting in a rollover. Both occupants, Jeremiah and MaryAnn Burner, were ejected onto the pavement. Jeremiah sustained serious injuries and was transported to Trinity Hospital by Trinity First Response Ambulance. MaryAnn was also transported with minor injuries. Jeremiah was charged with driving under the influence. Neither occupant was wearing a helmet. The crash remains under investigation.
