Dallas, TX – 88°F highs are expected by Tuesday afternoon across North Texas, increasing heat stress and setting up storm chances that could disrupt the evening commute. A strong warming trend will take hold through early next week, replacing mild conditions with early-season heat.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, temperatures will climb steadily from the low 80s Sunday into the mid to upper 80s by Monday and Tuesday. Overnight lows will also rise into the 60s, limiting overnight cooling across the Dallas-Fort Worth metro and surrounding areas.

Cities including Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, and Denton will see highs peak between 85 and 88°F by Tuesday. Farther north, Sherman and Denison will reach the mid-80s, while Waco, Temple, and Killeen approach 89°F. Major corridors including I-35, I-20, and U.S. 75 will remain dry through Monday, supporting smooth travel conditions.

Storm chances begin late Tuesday afternoon into the evening, with scattered thunderstorms potentially impacting commutes across DFW and Central Texas. Brief heavy rain, gusty winds, and lightning could slow traffic and cause localized delays, especially on busy interstates and urban roadways.

The warming trend continues through Tuesday before storms introduce more unsettled conditions. Additional advisories are possible as storm timing and coverage become clearer.
