Roanoke, VA – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for parts of Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia as snow is expected to create hazardous travel conditions through Thursday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Blacksburg, snowfall will begin overnight, with 2 to 4 inches expected across impacted areas. The advisory covers regions including Blacksburg, Roanoke, Bedford, Boone, Lewisburg, and Wytheville, among others.
The first wave of snowfall will start around 1 a.m. Wednesday for western Virginia, southeast West Virginia, and northwest North Carolina, lasting through 1 p.m. Thursday. Another system will bring snow to Roanoke, Bedford, and Wilkesborofrom 6 a.m. Wednesday through Thursday afternoon.

Commuters should plan for slippery road conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses. The morning and evening commutes on Wednesday are expected to be difficult due to accumulating snow.
