Annandale, VA – Rain and gusty winds will disrupt the spring feel in Northern Virginia midweek, but brighter, warmer days are just ahead.
According to the National Weather Service, isolated showers will develop over Annandale by Wednesday afternoon, with wind gusts reaching 25 mph, especially near major routes like I-495 and I-95. Rain chances remain around 20%, but drivers should remain alert during midday and evening commutes.
The forecast shows cooler temperatures peaking near 56°F on Wednesday before skies clear by nightfall. Overnight lows will dip to 34°F under mostly clear skies. Winds will ease slightly but remain steady from the northwest.
Thursday brings the return of sunshine and milder spring conditions, with highs near 59°F and light northwest breezes. The warming trend continues into Friday, which will be partly sunny with highs reaching 67°F — a welcome rebound for the region.
Looking ahead, the weekend looks ideal for spring outings. Saturday and Sunday will bring highs in the low 70s with partly sunny skies. However, slight rain chances return Sunday night and into Monday, with a 50% chance of showers.
