According to the National Weather Service, a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather is in place for Sunday afternoon, including Montgomery, Floyd, Giles, and Pulaski counties. Storms are likely after 11 a.m., with winds strong enough to cause scattered power outages or knock down tree limbs. Travelers along US-460 should use caution, especially during early afternoon hours.

Showers and a possible thunderstorm are expected in Blacksburg between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday, with rainfall up to half an inch and gusty winds. Residents should secure outdoor furniture, charge mobile devices, and avoid unnecessary travel during peak storm times. Storms could linger into Sunday night, particularly before midnight.

While Monday begins mostly dry, another round of thunderstorms is possible after 2 p.m., continuing into Monday night. Rain chances remain around 50%, and high temperatures will hover near 83°F.

Looking ahead, conditions gradually improve with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low-to-mid 80s expected from Tuesday through Thursday. However, isolated showers may still return by Friday.
