Richmond, VA – Residents across Virginia can expect a mostly cloudy Sunday with mild temperatures, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wakefield. While much of the state will remain dry, scattered showers are possible this morning along the Atlantic coast.

According to the NWS, skies will feature “more clouds than sun today, but mainly dry.” Highs are forecast to reach the upper 70s to around 80 degrees in most areas, with slightly cooler readings near the water.

Forecasters noted that showers and isolated thunderstorms may develop along coastal Virginia through midday. Inland areas, including Richmond, Petersburg, and Fredericksburg, are expected to stay dry but remain under cloudy conditions.

Travelers and outdoor planners should anticipate reduced sunshine and the chance for brief showers along the coast. The cloud cover is expected to persist into the evening, helping to keep temperatures steady.

The week ahead brings a continued mix of clouds and sun, with temperatures remaining in the seasonable 70s and low 80s. More details will be provided in upcoming NWS updates as the region transitions fully into early fall conditions.
